26th March 2017 .....AH! Mothers day is just around the corner and I find it insanely hard to buy a present for....I never know whether to get an actual present or just flowers or loads of presents or!? It's a hard one. BUT don't panic, if you are struggling to think of something for the motherly figure in your life then I might just have the perfect idea for you!
On Tuesday last week I took my mum for an afternoon tea along the Thames with city cruises. I bought mine via buy a gift and it cost around £30 for the two of us! And she LOVED it.
The boat leaves from Tower of London at around 3:15pm (unless you have people complaining about their seats ..like we did) and lasts for approximately 1hr 30mins. Your seats are allocated for you when you board and we were lucky enough to get a window seat so we had prime potion for the views of London. The staff on board are really lovely and friendly, they'll do anything to make sure you're experience is a pleasurable one. ALSO in case you are wondering there are loos situated on board. The boat then goes down the river past the shard and the London eye etc before making its way back towards the tower of London all the way through to canary wharf and further.
Within about 15 minutes your afternoon tea is served. You can choose from a selection of sandwiches before moving on to some yummy chocolate cakes and then scones with cream, jam etc! If you have any special requirements then you have to make these with the company 72 hours prior to your trip. They also make sure you keep hydrated, don't worry you''re not limited to just one teapot of tea. It's endless! The waiter will be there as soon as your mug is empty to top it back up. Once you've enjoyed your tea, sandwiches and cakes you can go up on to the top deck to take in more of the scenery. It was lovely to have some fresh air and be able to take some pretty pictures of the city. Although it was very windy so I recommend taking your coat up there with you if you're planning to book your trip anytime soon. You are also given an on and off commentary by one of the tour guides on board. They point out some of the historic landmarks we pass by and give you some of the history behind them. I had such a lovely day and we went shopping in London afterwards so I'd say you could make a day of it! Treat the special lady you call mum with this lovely treat.
Hope everyone finds the perfect gift and doesn't leave it to the last minute like I normally do! Thanks as usual for reading. Please follow my social media accounts as well as my blog on blog lovin' to keep up to date with my posts!
But for now, TTFN
